How do you manage change?
Not everyone can embrace change with their arms wide open. I myself will resist especially if the changes do not come with a rational or logical explanation. But, I am not oppose to change. Change is good. Change will ensure we can move forward either in life or career wise. But does everyone feel this way? I think not.
I am curently doing my third module in Penang on Mgmt of C.hange. A very interesting module indeed. Why do I choose to take this module? I need to understand the reason behind change and how do we adapt to it especially when you work in an organization where restructuring is their middle name. Hehehehehe. Let see, how many times have I gone through restructuring exercises? Hmm...countless time. All these changes can create confusion, create havoc especially if the execution is not properly carried out or spelled out. So hopefully this course will help me to seek method or tools for making change happen and minimizing the impact of change in the office. Looking forward for tomorrow's class. Time do fly when you has a tutor like Mr G.uy. He's the same person who tought us the first module. Very enthusiastic and energetic.
In a non-related-story, I remember one incident where my appraiser gave me a lower rating on managing change competency coz he HEARD that I disagree with a change of job scope during one of the meeting which he did not attend in the first place. And based on the hearsay he can conclusively decided that I am against change. How preposterous! Since that incident, I am not keen to share or talk much with the B.oss. But who knows, maybe he''ll be a change person once we gone through the resturcturing exercise....Hmmmmm.
